The inspiration behind this story comes from a conversation in a group chat with friends.
It started with a picture of the Queen of England and suddenly changed to Freud and masturbation. One of them wrote: “Freud would masturbate when a sign of danger of dying. Never die horny”.
Such statement penetrated us deeply, so it became the title of the group and our mantra –or at least mine.
Never die horny is an exercise on context, the leit motiv of a series of artworks that explore the connection between sex and death through the Freudian eye. Still lifes become charicatures of sexual behaviour, challenging the viewer’s mind to prove that in the end, we all have dirty minds.
